Authenticity checking
Your photos are examined against the retail reference for that exact style code — stitch lines, tongue and heel shape, label typography, midsole finish, and how the details agree with each other. The result is one of three honest outcomes rather than a fake percentage:

A flagged pair is never valued. Pricing is blocked outright so a counterfeit can't end up with a dollar figure attached to it in your archive.
Condition grading
Condition is where most sneaker valuations quietly fall apart. "Used — good" means nothing to a buyer looking at creasing, midsole yellowing, and heel drag.
SoleStamp asks for two or three close-up photos and returns a 1–10 grade with written notes on the wear it actually found — toe box creasing, sole tread, discolouration, upper scuffing. That grade is stored on the record and shifts the value range, so a 9/10 pair and a 5/10 pair of the same shoe never carry the same estimate.
Valuation
Pricing is keyed to the normalised style code, never the nickname — so a "Bred" colourway is never priced against a different release that shares the name. Market data is pulled from live sources, and where a figure can't be verified, SoleStamp says so instead of inventing one.

- The style code is the only unique identifier a sneaker carries. SoleStamp treats it as the source of truth for both identification and pricing, so a 'Bred' colorway is never priced against a different release that shares the same nickname.
- What happens if a pair is flagged as counterfeit?
- SoleStamp will not produce a value for it. Valuation is blocked entirely on flagged pairs so a fake never gets a price attached to it inside your archive.
- Can it grade condition too?
- Yes. After identification, additional photos are graded for real-world wear on a 1–10 scale with written notes, and that grade adjusts the estimated value range.
